‘Jagadananda Karaka’ from Sri Rama Rajyam movie, composed by Maestro Ilayaraja, written by Jonnavithhula Ramalingeswara Rao and sung by S.P.Balasubrahmanyam and Shreya Ghoshal. Sri Rama Rajyam is a devotional film based on the epic ‘Ramayana’ and it was the legendary Bapu's final directorial venture. The way Bapu created this visual and musical delight is extraordinary and it is a film that can give you an enriching experience & reminds our ancient culture, heritage and values. The first line of this song is taken from the Pancharatna Kriti 'Jagadananda Karaka' and the rest of the song was written by Jonnavittula. This movie song is composed in ‘Suddha Dhanyasi’ raagam. The other thing to note is the beautiful orchestration in the prelude that brings out a ‘grand visual’ feeling of Sri Rama’s pattabhishekam. Maestro used the instruments like his signature Classical Guitar, Table, electrical keyboard and other instruments to bring this outstanding composition. As per the situation, Ilayaraja also used many chorus bits to show that people around Lord Rama are happily singing for Rama’s return.

The grandness in direction, depth of composition, wonderful lyrics and brilliant singing all combine to produce this evergreen classic ‘Jagadananda Karaka’. The great Bapu garu is no longer with us, but his work lives in every Telugu movie/music lover’s home. No one can ever replace Bapu garu. He is a true jewel in the crown of Telugu cinema and we are lucky to have been part of his era.
